Dr. Tom Fuller is General Evangelist for the United Methodist Church. He began studying John Wesley in the 1970s. He was fascinated by Wesley's high Christian standards, his commitment to Scripture, his balanced understanding of God, his energy and his optimism. Wesley's goal was spreading Christ throughout the world. Eventually he did. Two questions kept returning to Tom's mind: "Why am I not like that?" and "Why is my church not like that?" Dissatisfied with mediocre standards, Tom wrote the John Wesley Academy to return Christians to a clear understanding of our thrilling heritage. For five years Tom spent early mornings studying and writing The John Wesley Academy. Tom has preached, taught and sung across North America, as well as in Great Britain and India.
